The main purpose of this wind tunnel is educational, whether it is used for lab
practice or for demonstrations of certain fluid dynamics phenomena.
Although some research work could be supported with experimentation in this
tunnel, precision is limited due to the small working section and lack of
instrumentation. This section outlines current work with this tunnel. School of Mechanical Engineering regular lab practice

Graduate Research Development of a static 3-way dynamometer. This project endeavours to design and build a prototype of a primitive wind tunnel balance. Its main objective is to provide students with a first experience in the development, design, construction, calibration and analyses of a relatively complex instrument. The project started in 2006 as a term paper for the first course in Metrology and Instrumentation (IM-0303) at the School of Mechanical Engineering. Construction of Calibration Models for the Low-speed Flow Visualization Wind Tunnel at the Faculty of Engineering. Research work proposed by students of the School of Architecture. Awaiting sponsors. |
